This zine contains 26 drawing based automata playing with the phrase ‘out of the woodwork’. The original drawings and the resulting graphics are scarcely controlled by conscious intent and rely instead on a series of scientifically applied arbitrary processes, not unlike the process based paintings of petrified forests by Max Ernst. ‘woodwork’ like all graphic materials produced under the ‘Miroir Noir’ project are places where the undecipherable is undermined by the viewer’s imagination.
